Objective
To develop a strong foundation in the Chinese Language by focusing on the 6 aspects of listening, speaking, reading, writing and interaction skills (spoken and written interaction skills). With a strong foundation, your child will thus have the confidence to use the language regularly in his daily life. Nonetheless, the syllabus are designed in line with the Singapore Ministry of Education Chinese Language curriculum.
Primary 1 - 3 Syllabus
In order to lay a strong foundation in learning the Chinese language, the emphasis for lower primary would be on developing the ability to recognise and understand how to use common Chinese vocabulary and phrases. Next, would be to focus on the writing strokes and phonics (hanyupinyin) before introducing sentence construction and paragraph writing.
All teaching materials, exercises, homework and mock exams are provided according to the level of the students.
Primary 4 - 6 Syllabus
Comprehensive development of various Chinses Language skills, focusing on the following areas:
- Comprehension - Understanding of paragraphs and short essays and answering of short questions.
- Composition Writing - Organisational skills, elaboration and construction of introduction, body and conclusion.
- Oral - Passage reading, pictorial and video conversation.
- Listening Comprehension - Listening of passage and identifying key information to answer factual, summary and inferential questions.
